Hi all,

I'm completely new to Leicester, having lived/worked here for 4 months or so. I'm a trainee IFA at a family firm in the centre, and have moved here from Sheffield.

Are there any other newbies to the city? Any pointers on what's good/what's to avoid?

Any stories to share?

Cheers!

What's good in Leicester, find out on my magazine - www.artsinleicestershire.co.uk

Hi Alasdair,

Welcome to Leicester! I've been here for quite a few years having come to Uni in 2003 but have discovered quite a few new places and people since joining the Futures Network - the best advice I can give is get to a few events and chat to as many people as possible.

If you're interested Mattioli Woods are holding a pension planning seminar up at the Marriott on the 25th of October, should be a good chance to meet some local professionals, learn a little about what we do and get CPD hours at the same time!

Let me know if you want details.

Hi Alasdair, well first I would recommend coming along to one of our events, as they are a great place to meet people and we are not your normal stuffy networking group, in fact we are all very social! The key is meeting people and soon you will find that you have plenty of invites to socials & events + hopefully made a few friends along the way.

Hi Alasdair,

Welcome to Leicester.

I would like to mirror Michaels comment, get yourself down to the next futures event. It's a great way to meet lot's of people, at a really relaxed and extremely social event. Running my own networking events I understand it's very important to have something different and fun, the Futures do this brilliantly.

Hopefully see you soon,

Jack.

Hi guys thanks for the replies so far - I'll check one of the events out, I think I just missed one!

Thornton - details of that would be useful, cheers.
